About Martin Thomas

Martin Thomas is defined by his leadership, values, service and a commitment to the citizens of Norfolk. Martin is an accomplished attorney, served as Vice Chairman of the Norfolk Planning Commission, one of the founders of Wards Corner Now, served as the vice president of Wards Corner Civic League, and currently serves on several boards in our community.

A graduate of Virginia Tech and the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law, Martin has been practicing law for the past 15 years. Martin, his wife Maggie, and their children live in the Wards Corner section of our City. He has a sincere energy for helping to make our community the very best it can be.

Martin understands the importance of having a plan for the future. The issues that face Norfolk need to be addressed through planning and action. He has carefully considered the needs of our City’s neighborhoods, education, economic development, public safety and transportation. He acknowledges that challenges presently facing Norfolk are real, and resolving them will require hard work. Martin is ready to engage the issues of the moment and will work together with our community, residents and business owners to create solutions.

Martin is running for Norfolk’s future. A future where Norfolk has better transportation, less crime, and quality schools. A future that enhances growth in our neighborhoods, businesses and the quality of life for our residents.
